Linux: Processor SDK Linux AM57xx: Timeline V6 / Kernel 4.19

G'day,

we may be running into the requirement to jump to Linux Kernel 4.19, which we anticipate to be contained in the Version 6 of Processor SDK Linux (-RT). Could someone please shed some light into the plan for a release date? Would I have a chance to pull a prerelease from the ti git?

Thanks for you query. Yes, we do plan to relelase v4.19 in our a future Processor SDK for Linux release in the July timeframe. You are welcome to watch git.ti.com and try those releases, but we won't be able to support you until the official release.

I hope this clarifies our plans for you.

Thanks Ron, that helps. At what time and location could I expect the 4.19 Kernel to show up in the git? I always tend to get lost a bit there, and certainly would like the Process-SDK part of it rather than kernel.org's. Thanks!

If you take a look at http://git.ti.com/ti-linux-kernel/ti-linux-kernel#more, you can see where development is happening.

For example, http://git.ti.com/ti-linux-kernel/ti-linux-kernel/commits/ti-linux-4.19.y seems to be where 4.19 is being brought together. As we progress in development. tags will be created on this to mark certain milestones.

This should give you something to look at and get an idea.

However, I have to reiterate that we don't support this development until it is complete and released with a Processor SDK. That is when we've completed all testing and are prepared to commit to an expected experience.
