AM3351: RMIIx_REFCLK Direction

Part Number: AM3351

Hi,

In section 14.2.4 of the AM335x Technical Reference Manual it states that the RMII interface reference clock pin operates as an input. I understand that this needs to be clocked by a 50MHz low-jitter source, either from a PHY or external oscillator.

In Figure 14-2, however, the RMIIx_REFCLK is shown as being either an input or an output, with  the output being a 50MHz clock sourced from the PRCM.

Does this mean that the RMIIx_REFCLK pin can act as a 50MHz clock source for an external PHY ?

Best Regards

Pete Baston.
