hi,

i have built a custom board based on am335x ice board

what are the files i need to change for booting my card using uart boot,

i have configured my DDR using board bring up tips

able to load spl.bin and uboot.img files but it is not getting booted

Hi,

You need to modify the board.c & mux.c files located in u-boot/board/ti/ directory, also you need to modify the u-boot dts file, located in arch/arm/dts/ to match your custom board hardware.

You need to match your hardware. You need to modify the pinmux & ddr settings. Then build u-boot for uart boot.

Hi Yordan,

I have done ddr timing changes and uploaded. I have populated eeprom from ice board on my custom board

Still I am facing same issue

Hi,

Have you verified that your timings actually work? This is done with JTAG & GEL files:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Sitara_Linux_Training:_Tuning_the_DDR3_Timings_on_BeagleBoneBlack

and then modify u-boot & build accordingly for uart boot: software-dl.ti.com/.../Foundational_Components_U-Boot.html

Hi Yordan,

thanks for your update

we had a issue in uart port settings ice boart was printing on uart3 port, we have made it to uart0 so it started worked

it got hanged after printing

starting kernel

after this we are not able to see any prints on console

Hi,

This usually is a problem with the kernel dts file.
Can you verify that the UART used in your kernel dts file is the same as the uart used in u-boot? By default the kernel dts (arch/arm/boot/dts/am335x-icev2-common.dtsi states:
chosen {
stdout-path = &uart3;
};

You need to change that.
