RTOS/TDA2P-ACD: Boot time reduction

Hi All,

I am using VSDK 3.05 with TDA2P board

Due to a requirement we need to toggle a GPIO within 100ms. I have enable the timestamp in the file sbl_tda2xx_main.c. Also I have removed the logs inside sbl. But the time at which it is toggling is 319ms.

Can anyone please help me to reduce this time to less than 100ms.

Hi Deepika,

Are you using EVM or custom board? What is the boot mode that you want to use and what are the SYSBOOT settings.

Hi Rishabh,

I am using TDA2P EVM but in my custom board boot mode supported is SD Boot and QSPI. Right now I have tried with SD Boot option.

Deepika,

First you can try this on the EVM and then port the same to custom board.
Can you specify the SYSBOOT setting that you are using.

Hi Rishabh,

SYSBOOT settings is as provided in the VSDK User Guide
Changing SW3 TO 00001100 10000001 [1:16]

Rishabh,one more doubt..need to enable USER_LEDS available in TDA2PX EVM,but the problem is that I need to enable the IO Expander and need to set that GPIO. This will definitely take some additional time.

Can you please suggest me an alternate method.

Hi Deepika,

What is the time taken in QSPI boot mode?
Can you specify the exact objective for me to suggest alternate method. You want to toggle any GPIO pin or LED?

Hi Rishabh,

Exact requiremt for GPIO toggling I am not aware of but it is somewhat related to engine crank.

Well I checked with QSPI, it took 50ms. Thanks for the suggestion for trying with QSPI.

I think this would be considered fine.
I will check and let you know.

Glad that the issue is resolved.
In case of SD a lot will depend on SD card speed, partition, etc.
