Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74CBTLV3257, TLK110
Hi,
My customer are planning to use PRU-ICSS as general purpose ethernet.
I have a few question about AM335x PRU-ICSS.
Q1.
Does PRU-ICSS support RMII mode?
PRU-ICSS doesn't have reference clock input pin so that I guess it doesn't support RMII.
Am I correct?
Q2.
It related to above question.
Somehow, PHY which support RMII(MII not supported) are used on customer's board and
it is connected to PRU-ICSS MII signals which can be connected.
With such a connection, will it be able to communicate appropriately?
Q3.
On AM335x ICEv2 board, the signals of ethernet are MUXed between AM335x and TLK110 by using SN74CBTLV3257.
If using PRU firmware of general purpose ethernet which are provided by SDK, does user need to use multiplexer as same as ICEv2?
Or is multiplexer not needed and also no modification are needed against PRU firmware?
My understanding is that PRU firmware doesn't related to multipexer so it's not needed and firmware can be used without modification.
But I want to make me sure, so please give me an answer.
best regards,
g.f.
