TMS320LC549PGE-80

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320LC548

Hello,

I have an ancient board including a TMS320LC549PGE-80 (AF-36DV3W G4) with a DVDD and CVDD at 2.5V whereas datasheet indicates that these supply voltages should be at 3.3V

This board has been working perfectly for several years without any issue. So, I assume this DSP can be supplied by a supply voltage of 2.5V . Could you confirm this ?

Since TMS320LC549PGE-80 has become obsolete, we’d like replace it by a TMS320LC548PGE-80.

Could you tell me that the TMS320LC548PGE-80 is not obsolete and it will be available for the next 5 years ?

If Yes , can the TMS320LC548PGE-80 be supplied 2.5V ?

Regards

  • Hi Jorge,

TMS320LC548 is in Not recommended for new design NRND state as it is written on the product page.
    According to datasheet:
    www.ti.com/.../tms320lc548.pdf
recommended power suppl voltage DVDD is 3.0 to 3.6V but absolute maximum ratings gives you wider voltage range. Therefore I suspect TMS320LC548PGE-80 could be supplied with 2.5V but I can not guarantee.
About End of Life of TMS320LC548 - TI has no plans to immediate plans to EOL TMS320LC548PGE-80 and the devices are ok to order and ship. See our General Quality Guidelines (section 20) for more information on product longevity.
We cannot give a year that we will EOL because there are no current plans to EOL.
