Linux/DRA74: Usb transmission test report

Part Number: DRA74

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

I can find the usb driver in below link:

ti-processor-sdk-linux-automotive-dra7xx-evm-03_04_00_03/docs/Processor_SDK_Linux_Automotive_Data_Sheet.html#USB_Driver

I want to view the USB transmission test report. Whether we have the report?

Could you share it to me?

Best regards,

Fredy

  • Fredy,

Can you give more detail on what USB transmission test report that you are refering here?
Are you looking at the performance benchmark numbers on the data sheet? Which USB class is this – is it for NCM gadget, can you clarification?
Alos, what is the intent here – are you interested in the steps to reproduce the results?

  • Hi, Praveen

I want to send 264 encoded frames to cluster by USB. For example, we need seed 25 video frames per second.
Whether we can support it ? and what is the loading of CPU ?

  • Hi Fredy,

Can you give us some more detail on the use-case here? Who is sending the frames here to the cluster? Also, who is going to be the USB host and who is going to be the USB device/gadget?  What would be the encoding rate of the 264 data?

For a HIGH-speed connection between USB device and host, the total theoretical speed as we know is 480Mbps.  For SS-connection, it is 5Gbps. These are bare metal numbers, but in actuals, it will must lesser as you see the benchmark data for the "USB NCM Gadget Performance"  in the datasheet depending on other system factors.

  • Hi Fredy,

I haven't heard back from you, I'm assuming you were able to resolve your issue.

Also, I see that you had related query resolved: Linux/DRA74: How to configure CDC/RNDIS gadget in J6 EVM?

If not, just post a reply below (or create a new thread if the thread has locked due to time-out).
