TDA3: Any required IP outside of SDK and free ti.com-housed tools?

Part Number: TDA3

Hi guys,

My customer is using the DM505/TDA3x, and I just want to make sure there are no surprises of IP they would need to purchase. Obviously if they go with a 3rd party for SW development help, that is their prerogative, just want to make sure what they are required to have is all free.

Thanks,

Brian

  • Brian,

Whatever is on ti.com is free. For anything they would like to use beyond the standard SDK features they may need to work with the 3rd party for SW development.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • These things I understand, just making sure there isn't anything they will *require* from a 3rd party that might be extra...

(Like, for instance when to develop on our older wireless radios you were forced to purchase an IAR compiler license...). Everything that exists for free on ti.com is enough for someone with enough competency to finish development?

  • Brian,

The way forward to understand what the customer may require is for you to discuss with the customer their overall system blocks diagram, data flow and software component usage and requirements.
Once you have this information, we can make intelligent suggestions of what gaps need to be filled from a software side which are not getting covered by standard TI software offerings.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Piyali
