Low-Cost HDMI to WSVGA Panel (LVDS) Conversion

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5708, TMDS251

Team,

My customer is looking for the least expensive solution to drive an LCD panel from 2 HDMI ports. I have looked into SLLA325C but they need audio support, so I assume they need a processor-based solution? The AM5708 cost is too high for their application. Would any other processor work? Here are their requirements:

- 2x HDMI inputs that can be muxed (perhaps a TMDS251). They need one of them to automatically become the video source when something is plugged in, otherwise it’s the other HDMI port which should always have something plugged in.

- The LCD panel is a 1024 x 600 WSVGA with an LVDS interface (might be able to switch to RGB if needed)

- Will need to supply audio from the active HDMI port to a wired headphone jack, a differential line output, and an IR transceiver chip.

Thanks,

Antonio
