AM3358: What is Smart Reflex and Dynamic Power Switching in PET

I think AM335x only support DVFS. if wants to enable DVFS, how to set Smart Reflex and Dynamic Power Switching in the PET in below table?

SmartReflex is optional for AM335x and can be disabled when DVFS is used. Dynamic power switching can be also turned off for AM335x.

I did not see much detail information about SmartReflex on AM335x datasheet and TRM, on Datasheet page 2: It is SmartRelfex Class 2B.
Class 2B need software to adjust voltage, is it implemented in Processor SDK?
The Power management module in Processor SDK is SmartReflex or DVFS? or Both?

SmartReflex and DVFS are two different power management techniques. I would suggest that you only use DVFS if power goal can be met with DVFS only. I'll check the status of SmartReflex support in the latest Processor SDK. Can you confirm that you are using Linux for this project ?

Yes, it is Linux, if SmartReflex has better power consumption saving, would help some application.

If can support by bare metal as well, also good.

Unfortunately, there is no bare metal software for SmartReflex AVS on AM335x. I just asked Linux team to check the latest status of AM335x AVS support in the Processor SDK Linux and reply back to here. Please wait for the update from Linux team.

Hi Tony,

Smart Reflex was once supported on AM335x, however due to upstreaming issues, was dropped in favor of CPU Idle + DVFS as power management solutions.
