TMS320DM8148: Does the DM8148 support four exposure WDR?

Part Number: TMS320DM8148

We are using a TMS320DM8148 and 'DM8127 with sensor that supports four exposure WDR and we need to determine if the SOC can make use of this feature. That is, can TMS320DM8148 take four frames of different exposures from an image sensor and combine them into one higher dynamic range image?

Thanks

  • Hi rperezti,

DM8148 and DM8127 does not support WDR sensors natively.

The only possibility is to use the programmable ARM/DSP/SIMCOP cores to merge the multiple sensor exposure frames into one WDR (e.g., 20-bit linear) frame by S/W.
The computation required by merging will be quite heavy if the image size is large.
The following processing of the combined HDR Bayer pattern frame will also be difficult.

    Best,
    Gang
