Hi,

I created a bootable SD card using the create-sd-card.sh script that ships with the TI SDK 05.00.00.02. I'm able to boot from the SD card through the usual method of holding the S1 button.

I also have a working image at the eMMC that I'd like to keep. I don't want to erase it or to flash the SD card contents into the eMMC.

So, how could I boot from the SD card without pressing the S1 button? Currently, I don't have any uEnv.txt file in the boot partition of the SD card.

Hi,

What board is this? If this is Beaglebone Black, the button is S2, not S1. S1 is warm reset, and S2 is connected to the SYSBOOT configuration resistor matrix. See page 6 of the BBB schematic: elinux.org/Beagleboard:BeagleBoneBlack

You can eliminate the need to press S2 by removing R68 and populating R93.

Hello Bruno,

Since the sysboot pins that the S2 boot switch are modifying are only sampled on power up, in this stage you cannot do anything with the software. So that, there is no software solution for making the board boot from SD card by default.
