RTOS / TDA2E:AVM CSI2

Part Number: TDA2E

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

HI TI Export

I am trying to check the solution for 4ch 2MP pixel AVM

Our system use as below.

1. Deserializer : DS90UB960

2. Serializer : DS90UB953

3. Camera Resolution : 1920x1280@30fps Yuv422 8bit CSI-2 4lane

like as below.

And I saw the TI store have two solution,so my question are

1.Which do i use the IC for AVM?

2.If my camera must use 4 lanes to transfer data, can the DS90UB960 transfer 4 cameras to use 1 output channel ? Because the TDA series only supports 1 channel 4 lane CSI-2

  • Hi Waber,

Both devices that you have listed will be able to receive 4 cameras 1920X1080 @ 30 fps, YUV422 8 bits/component.
Please note that on TDA2EG, max CSI2 clock would be at 750 MHz & max CSI2 clock would be 800 MHz on TDA2P

The choice of the device depends on the system needs.

If you can detail other needs of the AVM system, it would help us to recommend the correct device.

  • Hi Sujith

    Thank your support.

I still have a few questions.

4 cameras 1920x1280 @30fps,yuv42 8 bit/ on 4 lanes from DS90UB960, the pixel data reach up to 368.64Mb by one camera, and it PCLK about 100MHz.
    1. So the pixel data and PCLK become a 4x rate if used 4 in 1 out. Even though the TDA2EG or TDA2P still meet it solution?
    2.Could transport 400MHz PCLK by DS90UB960?

    Waber
  • Hi Waber,

Yes, UB960 can operate upto 800 MHz of CSI2 clock. Please note that CSI2 clock is DDR (Double Data Rate).
Also, the camera do not interface to UB960 directly, you would require an serializer.

Also, please check 2MP Surround view on TDA2Px demonstrated at CES www.youtube.com/watch
