AM5728: CM1 Host parallel port in Motorola mode

Hello

I need to implement a motarola style parallel port for a CM-1 interface in an AM5728.

Could anyone please advise if there is any way to use the processors features to help implement this better/faster - otherwise I'll be doing a bit bashing interface.

Please see interface signals below.

No, AM57x devices do not have this peripheral.

Thankyou for the advice.

Is the best way to implement this interface just to bit bash in firmware?

Are there any peripheral features of this device which could be creatively used to assist in implementing this interface?

Or make the bi bashing implementation easier?

Im guessing not but its worth asking the experts :)

You can consider using the PRU-ICSS peripheral. This is a stand-alone 200MHz MPU core, running its own code, and can achieve much tighter control over its I/O, than the ARM core under e.g. Linux. See section 30 in the AM572x TRM Rev. K for a description. There is also a PRU wiki portal here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PRU-ICSS
