66AK2H14: SRIO & PCIE swapping capabilities

Part Number: 66AK2H14

Hi,

Some very basic questions here about SRIO  module:

- Do you confirm that the 4 lanes can be used independently as four 1X lanes ?

- Do you confirm that RXP and RXN can be manually inverted inside the chip ?

- When not performed manually, is there an automatic detection and correction of the polarity at the receiver side ?

- Is the chip able to boot on SRIO when RXP and RXN were inverted on the PCB ?

Then same questions on the PCIe modules.....

Thank you for your help,

with best regards,

Bruno

  • Hi,

    For SRIO:
    1. Yes, the lanes can be used independently as four 1x lanes, see explanation from Bill here: e2e.ti.com/.../310742
    2. Yes, RXP and RXN can be inverted within the chip
    3. I am not aware of such detection and correction.
    4. I don't think it is possible to boot from SRIO when RXP and RXN are inverted on the PCB.

    For PCI
    1. The interface can be used as x1 or x2 lanes, see: e2e.ti.com/.../1055426
    2. Yes, it is possible to invert these signals.
    3. No, I am not aware of such automatic detection and correction of the polarity.
    4. Again, I don't think it is possible to boot from PCIe when RXP and RXN are inverted on the PCB.

For question 4 I will ask for additional clarification from the design team.

    Best Regards,
    Yordan
