Linux/AM3352: HOME & END Keys are not working on linux terminal

Hi,

I am using linux on am3352 based custom board and I am facing issue with the HOME and END keys of the keyboard on linux console of the board. I found that these keys are working when I use picocom for terminal and for minicom, HOME key is not working (shows ~) but END key is working. On tera term and putty , any of these keys are not working.

Why I am getting different results on different applications? Is there any way to make it working for all applications?

Hello Rohit,

This behavior will mainly depend on that how your PC terminal program interprets these HOME and END keys. If you want to allow the use of the Home/End keys in your target side, uncomment these lines in /etc/inputrc, then logout and login to make the changes take effect.

# allow the use of the Home/End keys
# "\e[1~": beginning-of-line
# "\e[4~": end-of-line
