AM3352: Over temperature potential failures

Hello Everyone,

We are using the AM3352ZCZ in our products with commercial temperature grade (Tj - 0°C to 90°C).

POH of the AM3352ZCZ is 100K for the junction temperature range: 0°C to 90°C for the following operation:

Processor is operated in turbo Mode (800MHz) and DDR3SDRAM is @ 400MHZ.

I would like to know that if the Junction temperature will go between 91°C to 110°C range which are the potential failures occurred to the system/processor?

Hi,

If you use a 800MHz rated part there should be no issues. You can read this article for thermal considerations: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../AM335x_Thermal_Considerations

I have already gone through the suggest link but it has thermal consideration related data which we already taken care in design.
Nowhere i found the data regarding the uprating junction Temperature beyond its limit.

Could you please let me know Which are the potential failures occurs if it goes to 125 C?

Junction temperature must not exceed the device ratings.

Hello Sir,

I knew that junction temperature should not be exits but in our scenario we are using the AM3252 in different product and each product has different temperature as per their power dissipation,

In two of our products junction is going beyond the 90 C, Which are the failure might be possible to the system/Processor?

TI will not discuss potential issues if devices are used out of specifications. I strongly suggest you use device with EXTENDED temperature range for these two products.
