Linux/AM3352: About UART port setting

Part Number: AM3352

Tool/software: Linux

Hi SIr

For UART port setting:

UART 3 :

TXD - pin C18, G16 & L16 are all be used, need a GPIO to simulate TX pin.
RXD pin - we can use pin G15.as RX

All other 5 UART ports are all being used.

We need another one UART port, need help to check if can use SW to generate one more UART port..

please advise

This will not be possible. UART drivers depend on the hardware UART. You can possibly modify the driver, but this is not an use case supported by TI.

We do not have an example for software UART under Linux. Again, this is not an use case supported by TI.

  • Hi Yimin,

Regarding the SW UART support for AM335x, it is under development and will be available in future Processor SDK releases. Please see the following thread for more information.
