AM5716: VDDSHVs connect with 1.8V

Part Number: AM5716

Hi,

my customer has a plan to connect VDDSHV1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 with 1.8V and VDDSHV4, 9 with 3.3V. "5.9 Power Supply Sequences" in "AM571x datasheet" says "(6) If any of the vddshv[1-7,9-11] rails (not including vddshv8) are used as 1.8V only, then these rails can be combined with vdds18v". So they will combined VDDSHV1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 with vdds18v.

(1) Could you give us your comments whether these connections keep power supply sequences or not?

(2) Could you give us your comments whether these connections avoid errata "i864: VDDS18V to VDDSHVn Current Path" or not?

Best Regards,

  • Hi,

    1. You should note that VDDSHV8 is excluded from the list of supplies, which can be combined with VDDS18V. This power rail should be provided from LDO1_OUT of the PMIC, because it supplies MMC1, which is a dual-voltage interface. If you have an SD card connector on MMC1 it will not work properly if VDDSHV8 is connected to a fixed 1.8V power supply.

    2. Errata i864 does not apply if VDDS18V and VDDSHVn are connected to the same power supply (again, excluding VDDSHV8 as mentioned above).

  • Hi Biser-san,

Thank you for your comments. I really appreciate it.
