DM365 EVM does not boot

Hi,

I modified my DM365 EVM board a little (mainly related to the CPLD) and found it does not boot. Then I change back to original. It still does not boot. - There is nothing showing on hyper terminal from serial port. That means the u-boot on NAND flash does not start.

What can I do now to verify whether or not the DM365 processor or the NAND flash damaged? Is it possible that some of the pins of DM365 processor or the NAND flash damaged? The overall current is about 760mA@ +5V input. Thanks.

There are some board level test (see Target Content area) available at http://support.spectrumdigital.com/boards/evmdm365/revc/ to verify the hardware is ok.

I believe these require CCS + JTAG to run.

Thanks Juan. It seems it needs an JTAG Emulator anyway to verify this, which is so expensive.

Actually we found our problem. In fact it is always booting. It just does not show anything on the Hyperterminal on the desktop PC with serial port. When I use the laptop with USB-to-serial adaptor and try, every thing is working fine! I just can't explain why. The desktop PC with serial port works fine with other FPGA boards. So strange! Thanks anyway.

have you checked the baud rate settings? or if any other programs is using the UART port on the PC

Yes. The baud rate is same as what the "getting started" says, 115200. The setting is exactly the same as the one on the laptop, which works fine. And the PC only has the Hyperterminal running. Anyway, I am gonna find out why when I am not so busy.
