Can AM3354 boot from USB ? like USB disk.

How does the AM3354 boot from USB disk ? could you share me how to set, Thanks a lot.

Hi,

No, AM335x devices cannot boot from USB drives. USB boot is possible only in Device mode. The ROM code implements as RNDIS class driver, so the device enumerates as an Ethernet port. See details in section 26.1.9.6 of the AM335x TRM Rev. P.

1. What is the Device mode ?

2. Which pins are configured to boot ? Is there only boot0 ~ boot4 ?

3. Assuming that the board empty flash to download the kernel, what ways to download kernel ? USB,sd card, serial interface , or others ? Could you share me all ways. Thank you very much.

1. Device mode is USB Device mode. This means that AM335x acts as an USB device, not as USB host.
2. SYSBOOT pins are listed in Table 26-7 of the AM335x TRM Rev. P.
