Hello TI Team,

Can we change VISION SDK Priority from RR50 to RR40 (On A15)?

Will it have any side effects.

Hi Anuj,

I want to change all threads running on A15 priority to change from RR50 to RR40.
My understanding is that priority is set within Vision SDK.

Can you tell us where you want to change this priority?
( You have better understanding of all the threads running on A15 from Vision SDK, Can you inform us where and which files to change the Thread Priority)

Second part of the Question is will it have an impact ?

Hi,

For A15 linux we run a lot of task/thread from VSDK and we assign some thread priority.
These thread priority can vary from 10 to 30.
Please refer below file
vision_sdk\links_fw\src\hlos\osa\include\osa_thr.h

Ideally we assign all thread to a priority value of 20.
So please assign high priority to those thread only which requires it other wise low priority task will not get chance to run.

Hi,

How are you checking this priority.
In VSDK we dont use such priority.
I might need to check on this.

Hi Raghu,

sorry for the delay.
Can you add print in "OSA_thrCreate()" function in "links_fw/src/hlos/osa/src/osa_thr.c" and check to what value is set "schedprm.sched_priority"?
Also can you try to run the app with "nice -n 10 <app>" and see if this decreases the priority by 10?
