Hello,

a) We are currently evaluating the options to develop an embedded webserver which is capable of TLS encryption. It came to our attention that TI-RTOS offers a HTTP server with the NDK. At the same time we came accros a thread which suggested TI-RTOS being outdated for AM335x.

b) Is there currently an option to integrate TLS from wolfSSL with TI-RTOS and NDK to get a HTTPS server? Is this configurable in the CCS GUI configurator? A similar question was asked in https://e2e.ti.com/support/legacy_forums/embedded/tirtos/f/355/t/410743 .

>>>At the same time we came accros a thread which suggested TI-RTOS being outdated for AM335x.>>>> This is incorrect. The Processor SDK RTOS on AM335x is released every quarter and this is based on RTOS package. The latest PRSDK RTOS is 5.2 and use the SYSBIOS 6.73.1.1.

Yes, you can integrate wolfSSL into TI-RTOS and NDK, this is a development work, not just configuration in CCS GUI. One of TI engineers did this work last year and an application note is being published soon. Let me check the status.

The writer is on vacation for a week and there will be a small editing work followed by the publish process. I estimate another 2 weeks from today.

Hello Eric,
thank you for the documentation.

Unfortunately I can't download the ZIP file mentioned on page 6 (regarding the random_rng_Porting.c file).
When I click the download link I get the following error:
"This shared file or folder link has been removed or is unavailable to you."

I talked with the author for this note, he mentioned "Customer no needs to download the code. Customer needs to follow the steps mentioned on the APP note."

Hello Eric,

I got the wolfSSL application example, as described in the manual, running.
The example features some kind of an echo server example, which seems to return the transmitted data.
A short test with a browser and wireshark (packet sniffer) using the https protocol shows me a lot of SSL/TLS data exchange and I can already see the certificate details within the browser.

But our original intention was to use the TI HTTP server with wolfSSL to connect via HTTPS.

1) Is it possible to implement the wolfSSL in the TI HTTP server?
2) Is there any guidance (manual or instructions) on how to do this?

We've had wolfSSL work with the NDK for the TM4C devices. You'll need to contact them for support questions though.
