U-SK,
All of components in Processor SDK RTOS, PRU-ICSS Industrial Software that is widely used by industrial customer gets built and tested using GNU GCC compiler. These tests include nightly regression for any build issues and functional tests, performance tests and integration tests for the GA release.
GCC compiler is deployed across Cortex A8, A9, A15 and A53 platforms that are supported in the TI Processors portfolio. We currently have about 12-15 platforms using GCC compiler used with Processor SDK RTOS that go into industrial, automotive and personal electronics markets. The same compiler is leveraged by our Linux and Android SDK offerings as well.
Refer to the release notes for Processor SDK RTOS and PRU ICSS Industrial to check the version and for any known issues that have been reported.
TI is a top-tier member of the Linaro consortium and is committed to using this version of GCC compiler in the long term. We will try to share non-NDA version of details regarding our Processor SDK test setup offline as we can`t post those details in public E2E forum.
Regards,
Rahul
