Dear Team

One of my customer is working on AM335x Sitara for ETHERCAT Slave and also Master application. We need to know if TI provide the slave software and but not master. The customer will have to buy from TI 3P for the master. We also want to know if there is any limitation for master sw if they buy from 3P and whats is the software support for Ethercat Slave?

Hi Yunkus,

EtherCAT slave:
- Users can download it from software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html
- Stack is free, but TI cannot distribute it. User's need to download it from Beckhoff/ETG.
- TI's supports EtherCAT PRU-ICSS Firmware / drivers. Stack and more Ethercat protocol general questions are supported by Beckhoff/ETG

EtherCAT master:
- User's would need to contact 3rd parties for master stack.
- There are some open source masters that users can explore. But, no sure how easy or ready are those for production.
- One third party we have worked in the past is acontis. They offer EC-Master on AM335x regular Ethernet port (CPSW) and also on PRU-ICSS. They also support Linux and TI's Sysbios. Webpage: www.acontis.com/.../ethercat-for-ti-processors.html
