AM5728: In system firmware update

Part Number: AM5728

Hello

Im making a system based on the beagleboard x15 which has a sitara AM5728 which boots from a 4GB eMMC FLASH.

My design will connect to a larger host system by uart and a bit bashed 8-bit databus parallel interface.

I need to be able to update the firmware in my design from the host system.

As is stands the sitara loads its code from the eMMC FLASH and runs from ddr.

Is it possible to send a new firmware image to my design (over either of the 2 interfaces mentioned) and write the image into a different section of the eMMC FLASH.

Then somehow tell the sitara to boot starting from a different address in the eMMC memory.

(As to avoid bricking I wouldnt want to just write over the single image in the eMMC FLASH)

flash part is either:

MICRON                              MTFC4GMDEA-4M IT
KINGSTON                            EMMC04G-M627-X01U

Id really appreciate any suggestions :)
