TMDSEVM572XH: Differences between EVMs

Part Number: TMDSEVM572XH

Hi Team,

whats is the different between AM572x  TMDSEVM572XH EVM kitand beagleboard -x15 board?

Thanks,

Lucy

  • Hi Lucy,

They are very similar. They both started as the same design but the X15 is a product of beaglebone.org and at some point the designs diverged. I can't tell you the exact differences. You could review the two schematics if you want to compare them.

  • Hi Bill ,

Thanks for replying to my post, I have planned to start develop smart speaker device with Extra feature video stream for connectivity support of HDMI port , interface memory 128GB (NAND) and RAM 1 GB those interface supporting processor need for my project so can you suggest to me ,actually my device is  like a Amazon Alexa and Google home  device , already some one is suggest to me use AM5708 process I thought this process advanced for my device ,what about AM43xx type processor and another doubt AM35xx this process support 1GB RAM?

    Thanks,

    Lucy

  • Hi Lucy,

Can you clarify what type of RAM you are planning on using? All three devices support DDR3 & DDR3L. The AM5708 and the AM4372 and address up to 2GB of DDR memory while the AM3351 is limited to 1GB of DDR memory. These parts also support different variants of DDR memory. You should check the data manual if you need to use a different type.

  • Hi Bill!!

Thank for your reply, As we are planning to use AM5708 processor for our product, Can we change the processor AM5728 available in AM572X EVM board to AM5708., is there any method or procedure to change it ? kindly update as soon as possible.

    Thanks.

    Regards Lucy!

  • Hi Lucy,
The AM5708 and the AM5728 are not in the same package and do not have the same ball-out so there isn't a practical way to mount an AM5708 on a AM5728 EVM.
