Linux/TDA2EVM5777: Enabling 10 inch LCD display, and play video

HI,

I am connecting the 10 inch LCD/touch screen display to the TDA2xx 5777 EVM.

I have connected the flat connecting cable between the LCD and the EVM.

I am running linux on the board, which is running fine. I get the command prompt.

But i do not get any thing on the LCD display.

Is there any script to test the LCD display?

Do we need to do any thing additional to enable it.

One point observed is that the flat cable connects straight, with the black color at the end facing the top and the exposed electrodes towards the PCB. But the '1' marked on the CPU board does not match the '1" on the LCD. Is the connection correct? Since the cable is flat cannot twist it.

Also, does the vision SDK has the utilities like gstreamer to play video on the board?

Hi Archit,

can you check chapter "3.3 Build Linux Vision SDK for LCD display (M4 Display)" in VisionSDK_Linux_UserGuide.pdf on which .dtb to select for LCD.

Also you should be able to use gstreamer with VisionSDK, but only with Wayland sink (KMS sink isn’t supported), please check "4.4.2 IPUMM on VSDK-Linux and IPU-1 as primary IPU for Vision-SDK" in Linux userguide.

Hi Yordan,

I changed the dtb file and could get the LCD to power up. But it only shows the background in different colors one after other.
I ran the visionsdk_load.sh and the apps.out. even then no action on the LCD.
Tried different use cases. I do not a camera connected.
So, is there any simpler script to test the LCD?

Also, in the serial log, i get the following error

Hi Yordon,

i could't locate the above mentioned chapter in the VisionSDK_linux_userGuide.pdf for the TDA2xx.
Also, checked in the platform sdk documentation.
Can you give a reference link to the above document

Hi,

In order to enable LCD you need to press s->1->1 after running .apps.out
It will change the system setting.
Then please run nullSrc usecase under single camera usecase option. This usecase doesnot require a camera.
So you can run that usecase to test LCD but you need to have the input stream and index file which will be required by nullSrc usecase.

Hi Anuj,

I could enable the LCD and run the use case. But i could not identify/locate the input stream and index file. Also, there is not mp4 file in the tartget file system.
Browsing the code, but taking time to figure it out.
If you could guide on which file /setting to copy of setting required it would help speed up.
