AMIC110: Will PRU-ICSS supports redundancy protocol like DLR, MRP, HSR?

Will redundancy protocols like DLR,MRP and HSR are implemented in PRU-ICSS(i.e. hardware level), or it should be a part of protocol stack of Ethernet/IP, Profinet ?

Hi Nilesh,

These protocols (DLR, MRP, HSR) on AMIC110 are PRU-ICSS firmware assisted and they are also part of protocol stack of Ethernet/IP (DLR), MRP (Profinet), and HSR supported on AMIC110.

Hi Garrett,

Thanks for reply, kindly address following query-

Can we implement MRP redundancy with Modbus TCP/IP protocol on AMIC110?

Also, Is seperate CPU is required for our application? i.e. AMIC for Industrial ethernet protocol and our application on other CPU?

For Modbus query, please check this - e2e.ti.com/.../2434990

Not sure which application you refer to. You don't have to use a separate CPU for an application with memory/MIPs that can be fit into AMIC110.
