CCS/TMS320C6678: Error Setting up Main PLL

Part Number: TMS320C6678

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I'm using C6678 in my custom board.

I'm able to load and run the project successfully but after 2 or 3 times I'm facing the following issue

C66xx_0: Failed to remove the debug state from the target before disconnecting. There may still be breakpoint op-codes embedded in program memory. It is recommended that you reset the emulator before you connect and reload your program before you continue debugging

could you please help me to resolve the issue.

Thank you,

  • Hi,

Can you elaborate on the conditions under which you see this error? I.e. are you loading CCS project, are you just connecting to the board to start a debug session, etc...
Also do you use external Jtag emulator or do you have one built in your board? Can you try with different emulator?

    Best Regards,
    Yordan
  • Hi,

I'm Loading CCS project to the target using external Jtag emulator. This emulator is working fine since we used it in previous projects.

I'm facing this issue after loading project to the target after 2 to 3 times without powering off the board.

And we are facing I2C issue also in which DSP is not sending I2C clk to the slave on SCL

    Thanks,
    Mounika
  • Hi,

As far as I know, you should use the CPU reset option in ccs (note that this does not power off the board) when loading the same project multiple times on the CPU:
Can you try this and see if the problem will persist?

    Best Regards,
    Yordan
