RTOS/AM3352: How do I set the source address when DMA reads GPMC data

Part Number: AM3352

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hi

    Refer to the example of EDMA, I have been able to complete the EDMA data transfer from RAM to RAM,

my GPMC driver is also able to work, when I want to use EDMA to read GPMC data,

how to set the source address in the EDMA parameter, is the base address of GPMC 0x50000000?I

tried, set this to not read GPMC data.

BR!

  • Hi,

    Is your GPMC driver from TI Processor SDK RTOS pdk_am335x_1_0_XX\packages\ti\drv\gpmc?

    "my GPMC driver is also able to work".>>>>>I guess your GPMC driver uses the CPU to read the data. What is the source address you used for CPU case would be the same address for EDMA.

    0x5000_0000 is the GPMC configuration. The GPMC data ranges from 0x0 to 0x2000_0000. I think you want to use EDMA to read the data, not the configuration.

  • Hi Eric

            Thank you for you response,you are right,my project is from pdk_am335x_1_0_13,I use the the API :GPMC_transfer(gpmcHandle,&transaction))

    to read the data,you said the GPMC data ranges from 0x0 to 0x2000_0000,it meas I can set the EDMA parames sour address from 0x0 to 0x2000_0000?

    I use the api  EDMA3_DRV_Result EDMA3_DRV_setSrcParams ( EDMA3_DRV_Handle hEdma,uint32_t lCh,uint32_t srcAddr,EDMA3_DRV_AddrMode addrMode,EDMA3_DRV_FifoWidth fifoWidth);

    set the configuration of EDMA.

  • Yes, that is right. You need to know your data address of the device you attached to the GPMC interface, it is in the range of 0x0 to 0x2000_0000.
