Linux/AM4378: USB device test mode

Hi,

We're following below instructions to perform USB device testing for AM4378. The USB host (running Windows 7) connected to AM4378 based board can identify the USB device as Gadget Zero, but cannot install the drivers. So we're not able to continue the testing. We also googled Gadge Zero drivers for Windows, but unfortunately didn't find the drivers. Could you please advise how to fix this issue? The SDK running on the AM4378 based board is ti-processor-sdk-linux-am437x-evm-05.00.00.15.

Tony,

What do you mean by "but cannot install the drivers"? Please provide more details.
By the way, the Windows host doesn't need to install any driver for Gadget Zero device.

Hi Bin,

I see. No test waveform is observed on the oscilloscope after doing below 3 steps. Anything else we need to check?

- load a gadget driver:

# modprobe g_zero

- connect the USB0 port to a USB host port

- start test packet:

# echo test_packet > /sys/kernel/debug/48390000.usb/testmode

Tony,

The picture shows the type-B port of the break board doesn't have a USB cable attached to it. Do you really connected AM437x USB0 port to a usb host?
