Dear,
I am considering to use the AM5728 SoC for our new multi-camera project. The project's need it 6CH x 720p@30fps (YUV,BT656) cameras to be input simultaneously. I have some questions about the SoC VIP capability:
- The datasheet/reference manual declares that the SOC has 3 VIPS with 2 separate camera input slides each and each slide can support 2 separate camera inputs. This means the SoC can read up to 10 cameras simultaneously. (We are not going to do any encoding for the camera data, all captured data will be handled in the GPU side). Is my understanding about the SoC video input capability is correct?!
- The datasheet also declares the VIP3 can input 2 YUV 16-bit cameras, can I use 2 YUV 8-bit cameras for this 3rd port?!
