Linux/TDA2SG: HDMI output flickers

Part Number: TDA2SG

Tool/software: Linux

What will the possible cause if the HDMI output flickers once in a while? The flickering is more obvious when having more processing event. Both EMIF1 and EMIF2 are active as data rates have been observed in the statistic. I am using 512MB RAM for each EMIF with HDMI output at 60FPS.

Will lower the HDMI output rate helps in resolving this? How to change the HDMI output to lower rate like 50FPS or 30FPS? By changing SYSTEM_STD_1080P_60 to SYSTEM_STD_1080P_50 only, it gives 'Core control: Set Config failed!!' error at dispdrv/src/vpsdrv_dctrl.c.

  • Just to add on, I am using DDR3L MT41K256M16TW-107 AIT:P for both EMIF1 and EMIF2 whereas EVM is using RAM as below.

    EVM

    EMIF1: MT41K512M16HA-125 IT:A

    EMIF2: MT41K512M8RH-125 IT:E

Any configuration I need to change except these registers?

    SDRAM_CONFIG (0x61855332U)

    SDRAM_TIM_2 (0x308F7FDAU)

    SDRAM_TIM_3 (0x407F88A8U)

    CTRL_WKUP_EMIF1_SDRAM_CONFIG_EXT (0x0002C163U)

    CTRL_WKUP_EMIF2_SDRAM_CONFIG_EXT (0x0002C163U)
