AM5749: Development board

Part Number: AM5749
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5748, PROFIBUS, AM5728, AM5726, AM5746

I am interested in buying a development board based on AM5749 Sitara processor. TI Web page shows

AM574x Industrial Development Kit (IDK) is available in this regard which is based on AM5748 instead of AM5749.

As AM5748 does not include "Embedded Vision Engine (EVE)" Module.

Kindly guide me in this regard, when will TI announce a development board based on AM5749.

Thanks and regards

  • Hello, thanks for considering TI processors.
Perhaps you are checking some old pages...have you read this page here? www.ti.com/.../tmdsidk574
    See below:

    Features

    2 EVEs
4 Ethernet ports with concurrent operation including 2 from PRU-ICSS
    DDR3 with ECC
Profibus connection, EtherCAT and RS485 Headers
    On-board eMMC
Mini PCIe, USB3, and HDMI connectors
As of 01/21/2019 this board comes with a superset for AM5749/AM5748/AM5746/AM5728/AM5726
  • The confusion is that AM574x datasheet says that EVE module is available only on AM5749 and it is NOT available on AM5748.
However, the TMDSIDK574 industrial development kit features AM748 processor instead of AM5749. Then how will I get EVE module on this IDK?
    Regards.
  • Imran,
You are correct, EVEs are available only in AM5749.
But as stated in the IDK tool folder page, IDK is designed to support all AM574x devices.
When did you bought your IDK?
if you did not have one yet, once you place a order for it, it will be shipped with AM5749 SoC on it.
