AMIC110: HSR functionality

The supervisory frame is also described in the developer guide:
HSR/PRP uses one task to prepare and then send Supervision frames periodically.

RedLifeCheckTask() : Check for Link up, prepare a supervision frame and then send them periodically. This is done by waiting on a semaphore redLifeCheckSemaphore which is in turn posted by a Timer.

The task initialization is done inside RedLifeCheckTaskCreate()

It has cleared most of the doubts.

1) One point i want to understand is of node table management.

It is mention on page 7 "http://www.ti.com/lit/an/spracf2/spracf2.pdf"

that AMIC110 can handle "Up to 256 entries" usine PRU-ICSS Firmware.

WIth AMIC110 how many DANH units i can connect in HSR ring?

2) Which TCPIP stack do i need to use for HSR ring?

3) Is it possible to develope Modbus TCPIP with HSR redundancy provided by HSR PRU-ICSS engine?

2) The TCP/IP stack is from TI NDK included in Processor SDK that HSR/PRP is built with.
3) AMIC110 has two 10/100Mbps ethernet ports that have been used for HSR. You may consider other Sitara processor, e.g. AM335x, AM437x...with more ports for Modbus TCP/IP.

1) As i am very new to the concept of HSR kindly address the following query.

- Total 128 entries on AMICx, AM335x, AM437x

- Total 256 entries on AM57xx & K2G

so my understanding is that with AMIC 110 i am able to connect max 128 DANH in HSR ring.right?

There are two prtotype developement i am thinking of.

One is with Modbus TCPIP without any redundancy. Which is not possible with PRU-ICSS engine. For that two differnt EMAC other than PRU-ICSS engine is required.which is available with AM335x, AM437x..

Right ?

Second is with Modbus (Not IEC 61850) TCPIP with HSR redundancy. Is it possible with AMIC 110?

3) Can PRU-ICSS firmware be configured for RMII interface for AMIC110 as

"www.ti.com/lit/an/spracf2/spracf2.pdf" page 7 section  2.2 figure 6 shows MII interface?

Because with our prototype developement we want to use RMII interface rather than MII.

4)

--are there STP, RSTP driver available for AM335x,AM437x..?

2) Actually as Modbus is application layer message protocol, it is possible to be supported with HSR redundancy.
3) RMII/MII interface is configured in application. RMII increases latency and jitter and not tested with the firmware.
4) No, but these protocols should be able to port to these devices with NDK.

If you don't use redundancy (2 ethernet ports) and Modbus (2 ethernet ports) in parallel, you can use AMIC110 for Modbus TCP/IP which will be based on NDK and PRU ICSS_EMAC driver/firmware from Processor SDK, other than the PRU firmware from Industrial SW for HSR/PPR.

You can add Modbus feature over HSR, or Modbus-only without HSR on AMIC110.
