Section 8.1.6.13 Timer Clock Structure

FIgure 8-16 Watchdog Timer CLock Selection shows that Timer0 can only come from CLK_RC_32K. The statement above the figure indicates the same. "The DMTIMER0 can only be clocked from the internal RC oscillator (CLKRC32K)."

Figure 8-17 Watchdog and Secure Timer Clock Selection shows that DMTIMER0 can come from 4 different sources.

Which is correct, Figure 8-16 or Figure 8-17?

Secure timers are not available on general purpose devices. The only clock source for DMTimer0 is CLK_RC_32K, as shown in Figure 20-2.

Secure devices documentation is available only under NDA and cannot be discussed on a public forum. All publicly available documentation covers general purpose devices.

Hi Biser,

I'm not interested in Secure Services Device information.

I'm interested in documentation that tells me what sections in TI AM335x TRM Rev P spru73h.pdf do not apply to the part we're using (3352).

Until you said above that Figure 8-17 does not apply to our General Purpose part, I was under the impression that everything in this manual applied to our part.

You should look in the dedicated chapters for each peripheral, where you will find detailed information about integration and unsupported features of the particular peripheral.

I never stated that Figure 8-17 does not apply to GP devices, only that secure timers are not available.

My misunderstanding. Since my original question was specifically about Figures 8-16 and 8-17, I thought your response applied to these Figures.

Does Figure 8-17 apply to the General Purpose part(s)?

Figure 8-17 does not apply to General Purpose parts.

I've filed a ticket to clarify this in the next TRM release.
