OMAPL138: UART test

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I wanted to test the UART of OMAPL138, for this i have initialised all the registers as per my need, brought hl340 cable, downloaded corresponding driver. Also putty i downloaded and its detecting the connection. But the problem is terminal which is a black screen that opens doesnt shoes anything. What should i do ?

I have mean Linux Processor SDK or RTOS Processor SDK for example or something else.
