I'm sorry for the delay here. I wasn't able to reproduce the issue on my LCDK. Please see my passing log below:

Card inserted.
All tests have PASSED

Which SD card are you using? And can you try testing with a different one? I'm using a Kingston 16GB MicroSDHC card, fat32 formatted.

I am using microSD Verbatim 16GB class 10 and Kingston 16GB class 10.

It also fails on

Could you suggest appropriate lower clock rates?

Can you try the other MMCSd examples besides the FatFs one to see if they fail too?

Sorry for the delay. I can get the other mmcsd examples to function  correctly.  The problem seems to be with the fatfs
