Linux/AM3358: Ethernet in switch mode

Using Ethernet EMAC in switch mode:

1. Is it required to manually configure one EMAC to up-link mode and the other EMAC to down-link mode?

2. Is it possible for both EMAC0/EMAC1 to automatically decide which is up-link or down-link based on what it is connected to?

    Hi Eddie,

    I may not be following the question, the switch will learn which external port a packet came from so the response would go back towards that port.

    If that response does not I will need more description of the use case being considered here to fully answer the question. Could you please describe or attach a block diagram of the topology and how the terms up-link/down-link are being used? Is this something that the customer is asking from their testing or experience?
