AM1806: PMCR register EMIF is available?

Hi,

I found that the Page size configuration register (PCMR register) in our released driver " AM1808_StarterWare_1_00_03_03\drivers\emifa.c".

However, there is no description about the register in TRM.

Is it really available?

Does AM1806 support Page read for NOR?

Hi,

There is no such register described neither in TRM, nor in Datasheet. Are you sure you refer to the emifa.c driver version that is related to AM1806 devices, note that StarterWare contains drivers for most of the TI processors.

A description of the PMCR (Page Mode Control Register) can be found in section 3.14 of the AM18x EMIFA User's Guide:

Hi Sahin,

You're right. PCMR is typo.

According to the document you indicated, AM18xx EMIFA support "NOR Flash Page Mode". (I'm referring chapter 2.5.8.)

And there is PMCR register with offset address 0x68 at EMIFA. (I'm referring Table26)

However, the chapter which describes about "NOR Flash Page Mode" is missing on TRM:

And also, there is no PMCR register at EMIFA register list at Table 18-48 on TRM.

I am concerned that PMCR register really exists on AM1806.

Hello HaTa,

You are right. Ultimately, the device-specific TRM and datasheet are the documents we should rely on, so according to those it looks like this register is not available on the AM1806 device. Do you have an AM1806 EVM you can connect to via CCS? If so, you can try looking for and poking this register in the CCS Register window to confirm.
