TDA2EVM5777: EVE Subsystem Clock Rate

Part Number: TDA2EVM5777

Hello,

How can I determine the current clock rate on the EVE subsystems (ARP32 and VCOP) and what are the max clock rates?

How can I configure the clock rates if it is not at the max rate?

Also, I am working with VCOP emulatables.  Is there a way to determine the expected VCOP (on hardware) timings from a VCOP emulatable?

Thank you,
-iFer

  • Hi iFer,

You should refer to Data Manual for max clock rates supported for a particular device.
You can set EVE to a different OPP in case you want to set different clock rate.
Please note that APR32 runs at half the frequency of VCOP.

  • Hi,

I haven't heard back from you, I'm assuming you were able to resolve your issue.
If not, just post a reply below (or create a new thread if the thread has locked due to time-out).

  • Hello Rishabh,
Thanks for the info.  When I read out the clock speed registers for the EVE, will that tell me the ARP32 clock rate or the VCOP clock rate?  I read out the DPLL_EVE and I am getting a CLKOUT_M2 speed of 535 MHz. The TRM shows that CLKOUT_M2 is EVE_GFCLK but it wasn't immediately clear how ARP32 and VCOP clocks are sourced.
In other words, for my current configuration, does this mean the ARP32 runs at 535 MHz and the VCOP at 1070 MHz or does the ARP32 run at 267.5 MHz and the VCOP at 535 MHz?

    Thanks,

  • Hi iFer,

This is VCOP's speed. ARP32 runs as 267.5 and VCOP runs at 535 MHz.
