AM5728: DDR3 compliance tests

Expert 6520 points

Part Number: AM5728
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00204

Dear team,

we are working to pass compliance tests for DDR3 memory with AM5728, unfortunately we are failing (Jedec Standard JESD79-3-1A.01).

Can you share any test reports that were passed with some of the reference designs, for instance TIDA-00204?

Thanks for feedback.

  • Bart,

We do not have a report available.  As our documentation states, we support our customers with a limited set of topologies and a strict set of design rules.  Do you have a functional interface?  Have you verified that all routing requirements have been met?  What speed are you running the interface?

JEDEC compliance testing is very difficult.  What JEDEC compliance tests are you failing?  What equipment are you using and where are you probing the nets?

  • Hi Tom,

somebody did the test for Sitara AM5728 link.
We tried it with an oscilloscope through this manual: link. We have started with 5.2.3 Differential Output Slew Rate for DQS.
I have also just sent you the test report via e-mail.

    Looking forward for your feedback.

    Best regards

  • Bart,

As seen in the E2E linked, there was only a single parameter that was failing.  Unfortunately, even though that discussion went on for a long time, it was never resolved.  There are many details related to software configuration and board layout and probing method that can affect the type of parameter failure seen.

The char report provided in email has many parameters failing and some are obviously bad measurements.  I will not be able to resolve all of this for the customer.  They will need to get an engineer involved with more expertise.

    Tom

  • Tom,

    clear, thanks for your feedback.

If you are able to provide any suggestions for the failing parameters from the report, that would be helpful and really appreciated.

    Looking forward.

    Bart

  • Bart,

Any update?  If there will be a long delay, we can close out this thread.  We can reopen it if needed.

  • Hi Tom, no updates yet, we can close for time being and reopen afterwards.
