Hi there,

I use CCS v9 and I want to try to build vps examples using AM572xevm.

I succeeded to import CCS project from txt file at "C:\ti\pdk_am57xx_1_0_14\packages\ti\drv\vps\examples\ccsprojects\am572x\bios".

And I build the binary file and load to evm board.

It seems be go well to load program and run on the board.

However, during loop execution, the following error is displayed via UART.

The error I asked earlier was resolved when I inserted the SD card.

But run the program as it is, the following error will be displayed.

Hi,

There is no CCS project for AM572x GP EVM, all the CCS projects are for IDK571/2/4 loopback with ARM/DSP/M4. You can't directly use IDK CCS project for GP EVM.

Please look at http://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-rtos/esd/docs/latest/rtos/index_device_drv.html#vps-drivers: Those GP EVM examples are built by make. Please make sure the loopback example using make worked as expected.

Then, if you want to create CCS project for GP EVM, please look at FAQ section.

So, I tried to load and execute on evm below files from CCS .

But I got same erros again.

Hi,

I thought the code has a bug running on IPU core, but it should work on A15 or C66x, did you try those cores or your goal is to run on IPU?

Hi Eric,

I don’t need to run on IPU.

I think that is fine run on A15 or C66x.

But, I tried to load binary file to A15, I got errors as below.

I only got ”vps_examples_loopbackBareMetal_ipu1_0_release.xem4.map” and ”vps_examples_loopbackBareMetal_ipu1_0_release.xem4” at "vps_examples_loopbackBareMetal" directory, by "make vps" command.

I could build vps example for A15, and I tried to load evm module.

But, I still got same errors as I ran on IPU.

The same thing happens with any other vps sample.

How does LOOPBACK_APP work in the first place?
Is it not to display the image from the camera on the LCD?
What is an SD Card Needed for?

Hi,

I tested the vps_examples_loopback_a15_0_release and vps_examples_loopbackBareMetal_a15_0_release on AM572x GP EVM A15 core, there is no problem, I used test case 24 (auto run). The cases 1-22 were skipped, the case 23 was actually ran, I was able to see what captured by camera displayed on LCD and SD card was used to save the capture.

Hi,

Thank you for your testing.

I formatted SD card on FAT32, so it could run program well.

I could see captured by camera displayed on LCD case 23.
