Linux/TCI6638K2K: Problem in 2 Ethernet interfaces throughput test in TCI6638K2K EVM

Part Number: TCI6638K2K

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

We have a custom board of TCI6638K2K chipset. We are at the stage of interfaces testing. We have 2 SGMII interfaces connected to other processor.

We tested two interfaces in bi-direction in custom board with

1. iperf, iperf3

througput we are getting in 2 interface eth0 and eth1,

K2K as server:

eth0: 562Mbps

K2K as client:

eth0: 920Mbps

K2K as server:

eth1: 678Mbps

K2K as client:

eth1: 852Mbps

2. netperf

K2K as server:

eth0: 901Mbps

K2K as client:

eth0: 329Mbps

We tested two interfaces in bi-direction in EVM with

1. iperf, iperf3

throughput we are getting in 2 interface eth0 and eth1,

K2K as server:

eth0: 213Mbps

K2K as client:

eth0: 949Mbps

K2K as server:

eth1: 207Mbps

K2K as client:

eth1: 948Mbps

2. netperf

K2K as server:

eth0: 456Mbps

K2K as client:

eth0: 908Mbps

We are seeing the more variations in throughput in both custom board and evaluation board, Can anyone please suggest the best way to test these interfaces? Is it possible to get throughput at low level instead of from application level.

Regards,

Yashavanth
