MontaVista Linux Professional Edition User's Guides

For Pro subscribers, a copy of the following User Guides are available on MontaVista Zone and on the Pro 4.0.1 "Documentation" CD-ROM in the /docs directory.

  • MontaVista Linux Professional Edition Kernel Developer's Guide
  • MontaVista Linux Professional Edition Application Developer's Guide
  • MontaVista Linux Professional Edition Platform Developer's Guide
  • MontaVista Linux Professional Edition Development Environment User's Guide
  • MontaVista Linux Professional Edition Security Reference Guide
  • MontaVista Linux Professional Edition Kernel Migration Guide

Among other topics, the User's Guides contain:

  • an overview of how to use Pro to develop embedded applications
  • information about how to run the development tools provided to perform application, kernel, and file system development
  • information about how to configure the user-space environment on the target
  • information on migrating from the 2.4 kernel to the 2.6 kernel
  • information on using the DevRocket development environment to develop applications
  • a full description of the Pro file system layout and a list of the applications included in this distribution

  • MontaVista Zone (and its contents such as the docs you referred to above) is only accessible to customers who pay for an MV License.  Our DM355 EVM ships with MV Pro demo distro; if you want to upgrade to a full blown Licensed MV Distro, in the past this would require the purchase of one of our DVSPB packages as noted in http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/tmdsevm355.html

However, I am seeing a note that this DVSPB is only available for DM644x now, so I will need to do some investigation and post more information at a later time.  Optionally, you should be able to go directly to MontaVista and purchase a License thru them to get access to MV Zone.
