Use DVSDK for custom board

Hello,

Can someone please give me step by step guide on how to use DVSDK and Codec Engine for custom board? I successfully learned how to design multimedia systems using DVSDK for OMAPL138-EVM, but now I want to switch to a custom board.

There are tutorials for Processor SDK but I don't know if they are suitable for DVSDK too or not.

The processor is OMAPL138.

And I have some side questions too :

1. It seems like the latest version of the Codec-engine release dates back to 2013! Does that mean it's gonna be deprecated soon?

2. What is the weakness in the DVSDK design philosophy that TI switched to Processor SDK?

Hi user5809435,

TI DVSDK is a legacy product based on Linux kernel 2.6.37 and it is not longer supported. On other hand the last Processor SDK v5.03 is based on Linux kernel 4.14.79 and Processor SDK incorporates support of wider range of platforms and eliminate need of various SDK for different platforms.
