about mpeg4 SP on DM355!!!!!!!!

All,

Could anyone show me how to convert video clips with other encoder formats to be playable by dm355 mpeg4 sp decoder using open source tool (ffmpeg or others)? I need not ArcSoft MediaConverter(I need a free tool). Thanks very much.

    I do not have experience with ffmpeg or mencoder, aside from knowing they exists and have been mentioned in many posts in this community, so I am afraid I cannot offer much advice here.  But I can help get you the ArcSoft tool; if you have not done so, can you please send your request via www.ti.com/support and direct it to my attention.  If you have done it, let me know and I will look for it.

    As Juan suggests, I do not believe this has been done before, however if you can find a way to get something like ffmpeg to do this conversion that would be great. I tried looking into doing this before but I could not find granular enough options in the tools to make the conversion, since the MPEG4 for the DM355 requires certain low level MPEG4 features to be disabled. This being said I would not be suprised if this is possible, but it may require a bit more of a hack, you may want to ask the ffmpeg community for some guidance in changing such low level codec settings, the DM355 MPEG4 codec datasheet specifies the supported MPEG4 features that would have to be enabled exclusively.
