Linux/TDA2SX: How to program or read/write in to EEPROM

1.I am going to change the EEPROM in our custom board,could you please tell me the procedure for flashing the board identification information into  the EEPROM ?

2.If driver not needed, what are the modifications I need to change regarding the EEPROM in u-boot/kernel?

Hi Sankar,

Please refer to u-boot code at "board/ti/common/board_detect.c"

It uses ti_i2c_eeprom_get function to read from EEPROM.

If you change the EEPROM, then you need to change the chip address being passed to this call.

Of course, the entire code assumes certain format of the EEPROM content. Make sure that the content and the parsing code are in sync.

I am not aware of the procedure to flash EEPROMs. I don't think this is done through regular software.

This query most likely falls in the hardware customization catagory.
