AM5748: Special boundary scan setup needed?

Hi there,

I'm trying to set up a boundary scan test for the AM5748. I do have boundary scan access, but I keep getting Stuck-At-Low errors while testting DDR, eMMC and SPI connections. Do I need to activate these ports to work as boundary scan IOs?

Can you check that EMU0 is pulled to GND and that EMU1 is pulled to 3.3 V at the time reset is released on the processor?

EMU0, EMU1 and RESET can be controlled by our test equipment. I tried all possible variants. None of them seem to solve this issue.

I do also have AM4718 and AM4728 modules. Using the AM4728 modules everything is working fine. The *18 and *48 modules keep failing on the DDR connections. Could there be a possible issue within the BSDL files?

Hi Alexander,

For AM5718 there is an errata i928 that could be related to the DDR problems. Can you try powering on the processor with RESETn held low and then trying to run boundary scan?

Also let me clarify the previous suggestion. The processor has two reset inputs, one called PORz and one called RESETn. The EMU0/1 pins are sampled when PORz is released. This signal is usually controlled by the PMIC. So changing the EMU0/1 pull direction and then toggling RESETn will not have an effect.
